Today there are almost 5,000 PR agencies in the UK, the majority of which are in London. With so many around you would think that every client and staff member would be happy. But they're not.

Too many clients hire the senior team and end up working with their more junior colleagues. Too many spend more time correcting press releases than they would have taken to write them from scratch. Too many are frustrated by their agency’s lack of commercial acumen – or basic interest in the business of the client they are paid by.

Staff are often not much happier. Too many get stuck at an agency where they aren’t trained, developed or nurtured. Too many work in an agency where their ideas are rarely implemented – and where they are blamed when an ambitious idea doesn’t come off. Too many feel they aren’t rewarded or recognised – and are powerless to change the agency they work for.

We set up Mischief in January 2006 with the aim of being different to every other agency in the country – and it’s working. We wanted to be the most straight-talking agency in the industry meaning we won’t just tell our clients what they want to hear. We challenge their briefs and if we don’t believe in it we walk away from it. As a result we have a client list of brands we love working with, hand-picked members of staff, and a track record of matching creativity to business objectives – so not only does our work make our clients famous, but it achieves something for them. Which keeps them happy. Which means they come back for more.
