According to our electronics client Parrot the future has arrived...well, in the video gaming sense. They have created the AR.Drone, the first quadrocopter (think a helicopter but with four blades) using augmented reality and piloted by Wi-Fi. In simple terms, it means you can control this robotic marvel using an iPhone, the cameras on it give you a pilot’s perspective and you’ll soon be shooting down enemy planes inside your living room using the technology known as augmented reality.
Since being unveiled at the CES in Las Vegas this week, it has had journalists salivating calling it "the future of gaming". A full page in today's Metro as well as coverage in Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, Evening Standard and most of the nationals.
Needless to say strategic seeding has meant it's gone crazy online (type Parrot A.R Drone into your search engine to see the results).
