It’s good to talk (or so we’re told) but it seems our obsession with our phones has reached new levels. According to esure, two thirds of Brits use their mobile to go online or text whilst crossing roads. The study, which dubs the phenomenon ‘netwalking’, reveals that 16 per cent of us check our email whilst negotiating traffic – and a worrying one in six have had a near miss or accident while using our must-have gadgets.

Cameron may be unpacking his bags at Number 10, but our story seemed to resonate with the media and we got some great coverage in the London Evening Standard, Daily Express and Daily Telegraph.

One small step for man...
