We launched the new Huawei Watch GT 2 with a pop-up kiosk with a difference - it was in the middle of the Royal Victoria Dock!
Measuring at 2.6m tall and 2m wide, half of the innovative ‘Dive Thru’ kiosk was submerged underwater and keen swimmers had to dive under and brave the chilly water to get their hands on the new tech. The new smart watch is the perfect accompaniment for open water swimming, waterproof and packed for all of data monitoring features – so what better way to launch it?
Over 250 fans had been queuing for up to 6 hours to get their hands on one of the thousands of pounds' worth of new Huawei Watch GT 2s in the water. With enthusiasts travelling from as far as Bournemouth, Southampton and Surrey it’s fair to say the Huawei Dive-Thru certainly made a splash.
What’s more Olympic gold medallist Greg Rutherford MBE was also on hand to give the swim a go, swapping the long jump for the deep dive and thus becoming the first person to get wet and become the proud owner of the new GT 2 – with coverage in the likes of The Sun, Gizmodo UK and Engadget, to name just a few.
